Abstract: there is disclosed a transplantation tray for holding growing plants, comprising a plurality of holes within which each of the growing plants are inserted such that roots of the growing plants are constantly in direct contact with a film of liquid present at a bottom of the transplantation tray. also disclosed is a process of transplantation using a transplantation tray holding growing plants, comprising sliding a plurality of extensions or fingers of a robotic apparatus under at least one layer or ring structure of a plurality of cups; and facilitating picking up and placing the growing plants from a first transplantation tray to a second transplantation tray.
