SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENABLING VEHICLE-TO-EVERYTHING COMMUNICATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240019821 titled 'SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENABLING VEHICLE-TO-EVERYTHING COMMUNICATION

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a system for vehicle-to-everything (V2E) communication that enables real-time or near real-time communication between a vehicle's local signaling device and servers over a wide area network. The servers are configured to register the local signaling device of the vehicle to utilize third-party provided functions from third-party devices or sensors that are connected to the same local area network. The registration process includes configuring predefined steps for the servers to execute in connection with the third-party functions. When the servers receive a communication signal from the vehicle's local signaling device, they execute the predefined steps.

  • The system enables communication between a vehicle's local signaling device and servers over a wide area network.
  • The servers can register the local signaling device to utilize third-party provided functions from devices or sensors on the same local area network.
  • The registration process includes configuring predefined steps for the servers to execute in connection with the third-party functions.
  • The servers can receive communication signals from the vehicle's local signaling device and execute the predefined steps in response.

Potential Applications:

  • Vehicle-to-vehicle communication for improved safety and coordination on the road.
  • Integration of third-party devices or sensors for enhanced functionality in vehicles.
  • Real-time monitoring and control of vehicle systems using remote servers.

Problems Solved:

  • Limited communication capabilities between vehicles and external devices or sensors.
  • Lack of standardized protocols for integrating third-party functions into vehicles.
  • Difficulty in executing predefined steps in response to communication signals from vehicles.

Benefits:

  • Improved safety and efficiency on the road through enhanced communication between vehicles.
  • Increased functionality and customization options for vehicles through integration of third-party devices or sensors.
  • Remote monitoring and control capabilities for vehicle systems, enabling proactive maintenance and troubleshooting.

Original Abstract Submitted

a system for vehicle-to-everything (v2e) communication includes servers configured to communicate over a wide area network with one local signaling device of a vehicle in a real-time or near real-time. the servers are further configured to register the local signaling device of the vehicle to utilize third-party provided functions provided by third party devices or sensors coupled to, or operating on a same local area network as, the local signaling device, the third-party devices or sensors selectable by a registering entity from a plurality of third-party devices or sensors. the registration includes configuring predefined steps to be taken by the servers in connection with the third party-provided functions of the third-party devices or sensors. the servers are further configured to receive a communication signal from the local signaling device of the vehicle, and in response to receiving the communication signal, execute the predefined steps.
