An electromechanical brake and a locking device for the same are disclosed. The locking device includes (i) a bracket, (ii) a rotating lever that has an operating end for being interlocked with a ratchet of the electromechanical brake, the rotating lever being connected to the bracket through a rotating shaft, such that the rotating lever is capable of rotating between an idle position and a working position with the rotating shaft as a rotation axis, (iii) an electromagnet, the electromagnet acting on an action end of the rotating lever, thereby causing the rotating lever to rotate from the idle position to the working position, and (iv) a reset member, the reset member causing the rotating lever to return to the idle position from the working position. The locking device is configured such that a movement distance of the operating end of the rotating lever is more than 3 times a movement distance of the action end during movement of the rotating lever from the idle position to the working position. Thus, the electromechanical brake occupies a smaller space and is more compact.
