Provided is a method of producing a steel sheet for cans. The method includes performing a hot rolling process of heating a steel slab. The steel slab contains C, Si, Mn, P, S, Al, N, Ti, Cr, Fe, and inevitable impurities and satisfies a relationship 0.005≤(Ti*/48)/(C/12)≤0.700 where Ti*=Ti−1.5 S. The method further includes: rolling the steel slab to obtain a steel sheet, coiling the steel sheet; and thereafter cooling the steel sheet; performing a primary cold rolling process of subjecting the steel sheet after the hot rolling process to cold rolling; performing an annealing process of heating the steel sheet after the primary cold rolling process, and thereafter holding the steel sheet in a specific temperature range; and performing a secondary cold rolling process of subjecting the steel sheet after the annealing process to cold rolling.
