Original Abstract Submitted
The present invention provides a microbial carrier in which denitrification efficiency is stabilized and improved, and a water treatment method using the same. The microbial carrier of the present invention is a microbial carrier which carries a microorganism having denitrification ability, the microbial carrier comprising an iron-containing carrier which comprises a biodegradable resin and iron, in which, when the iron-containing carrier comprises phosphorus, a molar ratio (phosphorus/iron) X of the phosphorus to the iron in the iron-containing carrier is 0<X⤠0.5, and when the iron-containing carrier comprises no phosphorus, the molar ratio (phosphorus/iron) X is X=0, and an iron content of the iron-containing carrier is 1.0Ă10% by mass or more and less than 2.0% by mass with respect to a mass of the iron-containing carrier.
