Techniques are described for performing control information transmission. An example wireless communication method includes transmitting, by a communication device, control information on a shared channel using one or more transmission layers, where the control information is transmitted on the shared channel using one or more transport blocks or one or more codewords, and where the control information is multiplexed on the shared channel based on a type of the control information.
