Techniques for commissioning of monitoring resources are disclosed. A transportable unit identifier (TUI) for each of a plurality of transportable units is determined. Each of the transportable units has a set of discrete transportable units associated therewith. A discrete unit identifier (DUI) linked with the set of discrete transportable units of each of the transportable units is then retrieved. A set of condition parameters, required to be monitored for the set of discrete transportable units, is determined for each DUI. One or more transportable units having the set of discrete transportable units requiring monitoring of analogous set of condition parameters are identified. Further, a cluster recommendation signal is generated to trigger rendering of a recommendation to cluster the one or more transportable units. A resource commissioning signal is also generated to trigger rendering of a recommendation to commission at least one monitoring resource for the one or more transportable units.
