ANTI-SLIP PAD AND TRAY INCLUDING SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18673634 titled 'ANTI-SLIP PAD AND TRAY INCLUDING SAME

The abstract describes a tray assembly with an anti-slip pad that has specific friction coefficient and surface resistance values, made from materials like thermoplastic olefinic elastomer, natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, and polypropylene.

  • The tray assembly includes a base tray and an anti-slip pad.
  • The anti-slip pad has a friction coefficient between 0.5 to 20 and a surface resistance between 10^6 Ω/cm to 10^9 Ω/cm.
  • Materials used for the anti-slip pad include thermoplastic olefinic elastomer, natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, and polypropylene.

Potential Applications: - Kitchen trays - Serving trays - Industrial trays - Automotive trays - Medical trays

Problems Solved: - Prevents items from slipping on the tray - Provides stability and safety - Ensures secure handling of objects on the tray

Benefits: - Enhanced grip and stability - Reduced risk of accidents - Durable and long-lasting - Versatile in various applications

Commercial Applications: "Anti-Slip Tray Assembly for Enhanced Safety and Stability in Various Industries"

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the friction coefficient affect the performance of the tray assembly? 2. What are the advantages of using different materials like thermoplastic olefinic elastomer or natural rubber for the anti-slip pad?

Original Abstract Submitted

A tray assembly includes a base tray, and an anti-slip pad disposed on the base tray, wherein the anti-slip pad has a friction coefficient in a range of about 0.5 to about 20 based on ASTM D1894, and a surface resistance in a range of about 10{circumflex over ( )}6 Ω/cmto about 10{circumflex over ( )}9 Ω/cmbased on ASTM D257, and the anti-slip pad includes at least one of a thermoplastic olefinic elastomer (TPO), natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), and polypropylene (PP).
