SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SUCCESSFUL HANDOVER REPORTING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18646952 titled 'SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SUCCESSFUL HANDOVER REPORTING

Simplified Explanation

The patent application discusses systems and methods for successful handover reporting in wireless communication networks.

  • A wireless communication node receives messages indicating the availability of a successful handover report (SHR) at a wireless communication device.
  • The messages also include information about the type of radio access technology associated with the SHR.
  • The wireless communication node then receives a second message containing the SHR and additional information from the wireless communication device.

Key Features and Innovation

Original Abstract Submitted

Presented are systems and methods for successful handover reporting. A wireless communication node may receive a first radio resource configuration (RRC) message including: an indication that a successful handover report (SHR) is available at the wireless communication device, and an indication of a type of radio access technology (RAT) associated with the SHR from a wireless communication device. The wireless communication node may receive a second RRC message that comprises: the SHR and first information from the wireless communication device.
