ANTENNA AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE COMPRISING SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18638035 titled 'ANTENNA AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE COMPRISING SAME
The abstract describes an electronic device with a display panel visible through the housing, a dielectric sheet with a ground region, a mesh pattern for wireless communication, and slots for electrical connections.
- The electronic device features a display panel visible through the housing.
- A dielectric sheet with a ground region is placed between the display panel and the housing.
- A mesh pattern, formed in a patch shape using conductive lines, is electrically connected to the ground region.
- The device includes a wireless communication circuit that transmits signals through the mesh pattern.
- Slots are formed in the mesh pattern for electrical connections.
- Power supply lines across the ground region connect the mesh pattern to the wireless communication circuit.
Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in smartphones, tablets, and other electronic devices requiring wireless communication capabilities.
Problems Solved: - Provides a reliable wireless communication solution while maintaining a sleek design.
Benefits: - Enhanced wireless communication performance. - Improved signal transmission and reception. - Efficient use of space within the device.
Commercial Applications: - This technology can be applied in consumer electronics, IoT devices, and communication equipment, enhancing their wireless capabilities and performance.
Questions about the Technology: 1. How does the mesh pattern improve wireless communication in the device? 2. What are the advantages of using slots for electrical connections in the mesh pattern?
Original Abstract Submitted
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a housing, a display panel arranged so as to be visible from the outside through at least a portion of the housing in the inner space of the housing, a dielectric sheet disposed between the display panel and the housing and at least partially including a ground region, at least one mesh pattern disposed to be at least partially electrically connected to the ground region and formed in a patch shape using a plurality of conductive lines, and a wireless communication circuit configured to transmit or receive a wireless signal in a designated frequency band through the at least one mesh pattern, wherein a slot is formed to have a length in a first direction in at least a portion of the at least one mesh pattern or at least a portion of the ground area, and the at least one mesh pattern may be electrically connected to the wireless communication circuit through at least one power supply line disposed across the ground region and at least one slot along a second direction crossing the first direction.
