Connector Locking Device - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18633251 titled 'Connector Locking Device
The abstract describes a connector locking device that includes a first connector, a second connector with a guide hole containing a locking protrusion and locking groove, a connector position assurance (CPA) member fastened to the locking groove to prevent decoupling, and a slider on the second connector for advancing or retracting in a direction perpendicular to the fastening direction. The CPA member has a mating guide groove for the slider's mating guide protrusion to move within, guiding its advancement or retraction.
- First connector coupled to a second connector with a guide hole and locking protrusion.
- Connector position assurance (CPA) member prevents decoupling by fastening to the locking groove.
- Slider on the second connector advances or retracts perpendicular to the fastening direction.
- CPA member has a mating guide groove for the slider's mating guide protrusion to move within.
- CPA member is guided to advance or retract along with the slider.

Original Abstract Submitted
A connector locking device includes a first connector, a second connector coupled to the first connector and including a guide hole having a locking protrusion and a locking groove on an outer side thereof, a connector position assurance (CPA) member fastened to the locking groove while moving along the guide hole and preventing the first connector and the second connector from being decoupled, and a slider mounted on the second connector to advance or retract in a direction intersecting a fastening direction of the first connector and the second connector, the slider including a mating guide protrusion, wherein the CPA member includes a mating guide groove to allow the mating guide protrusion to be inserted and movable therein, and the CPA member is guided to advance or retract in a direction intersecting the advancement or retraction of the slider.
