VEHICLE BRAKE LAMP - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18585122 titled 'VEHICLE BRAKE LAMP

The abstract describes a vehicle brake lamp with striped light emitting regions and non-light emitting regions. Each striped region has alternating strip-shaped light emitting portions and non-light emitting portions. The non-light emitting regions do not have any light emitting portions and are wider than the non-light emitting portions within the striped regions.

  • The vehicle brake lamp includes striped light emitting regions and non-light emitting regions.
  • Within each striped region, there are alternating strip-shaped light emitting portions and non-light emitting portions.
  • The non-light emitting regions do not contain any light emitting portions.
  • The non-light emitting regions are wider than the non-light emitting portions within the striped regions.
  • This design enhances the visibility and aesthetics of the brake lamp.

Potential Applications: - Automotive industry for vehicle brake lights - Other lighting applications where visibility is crucial

Problems Solved: - Improved visibility of brake lights - Enhanced aesthetics of vehicle lighting systems

Benefits: - Increased safety on the road - Attractive design for vehicle lighting systems

Commercial Applications: - Automotive manufacturers - Aftermarket vehicle lighting companies

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the design of the striped light emitting regions improve visibility? 2. What are the potential cost implications of implementing this technology in vehicle brake lamps?

Frequently Updated Research: - Ongoing studies on the impact of different light emitting patterns on driver response times and visibility.

Original Abstract Submitted

A vehicle brake lamp includes a plurality of striped light emitting regions and a plurality of non-light emitting regions . In each of the striped light emitting regions , a plurality of strip-shaped light emitting portions and non-light emitting portions are alternately disposed. The non-light emitting regions does not have a light emitting portion. The striped light emitting regions and the non-light emitting regions are alternately disposed. An extension width w of each of the non-light emitting regions in a disposition direction is set to be larger than an extension width w of each of the non-light emitting portions in the striped light emitting region in a disposition direction.
