GREASE COMPOSITION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18574588 titled 'GREASE COMPOSITION

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a grease composition with a base oil, a urea-based thickener, and a hardening agent that liquefies when heated to a certain temperature and solidifies when cooled, with high responsiveness to shear stress.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Grease composition with unique thickener properties
  • Thicker particles liquefy when heated and solidify when cooled
  • High responsiveness to shear stress
  • Easily softened when shear stress is applied

Potential Applications: The technology could be used in various industrial applications where lubrication with specific temperature-sensitive properties is required.

Problems Solved: The technology addresses the need for a grease composition that can adapt to temperature changes and shear stress, providing effective lubrication in various conditions.

Benefits:

  • Improved lubrication performance
  • Enhanced temperature adaptability
  • Increased durability and longevity of lubricated parts

Commercial Applications: The technology could be valuable in industries such as automotive, manufacturing, and machinery where precise lubrication under changing conditions is essential for optimal performance.

Prior Art: Readers can explore prior patents related to urea-based thickeners in grease compositions to understand the evolution of similar technologies.

Frequently Updated Research: Stay informed about advancements in urea-based thickener technology and its applications in lubrication to leverage the latest developments in the field.

Questions about Urea-Based Thickener Technology: 1. How does the urea-based thickener in the grease composition respond to temperature changes? 2. What are the key advantages of using a urea-based thickener in lubricants compared to other types of thickeners?

Original Abstract Submitted

Provided is a grease composition containing a base oil (A), a urea-based thickener (B), and a hardening agent for fat and/or fatty oil (C), in which particles containing the urea-based thickener (B) in the grease composition satisfy the following requirement (I), liquefy when heated to a certain temperature or higher, return to a solid state when returned to ordinary temperature after heated to a certain temperature or higher, have high responsiveness to application of shear stress, and are easily softened when shear stress is applied.
