METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR MARITIME COMMUNICATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18562888 titled 'METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR MARITIME COMMUNICATION
Simplified Explanation: The patent application discloses methods and apparatuses for maritime communication, where a management server obtains topology information about a network of maritime vessels, determines configuration information for service addressing or packet routing for target vessels based on the topology, and sends this information to the target vessels.
- The management server obtains topology information about a network of maritime vessels.
- Configuration information for service addressing or packet routing is determined for target vessels based on the obtained topology information.
- The configuration information is then sent to the target maritime vessels.
Potential Applications: 1. Maritime communication systems and networks. 2. Fleet management and coordination for maritime vessels. 3. Enhanced communication and data transfer capabilities for maritime operations.
Problems Solved: 1. Efficient service addressing and packet routing for maritime vessels. 2. Improved communication and coordination among maritime fleets. 3. Enhanced network management for maritime operations.
Benefits: 1. Streamlined communication processes for maritime vessels. 2. Increased efficiency in fleet management and coordination. 3. Enhanced data transfer capabilities for maritime operations.
Commercial Applications: Maritime communication technology can be utilized in industries such as shipping, fishing, offshore oil and gas, and marine research for improved communication and coordination among vessels.
Questions about Maritime Communication: 1. How does the management server obtain topology information about the network of maritime vessels? 2. What are the potential benefits of using this technology for fleet management and coordination in the maritime industry?
Original Abstract Submitted
Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for maritime communication. According to an embodiment, a management server obtains topology information about at least part of a topology of a network comprising multiple maritime vessels. The management server determines, for one or more target maritime vessels of the network, configuration information for service addressing or packet routing, based on the topology information. The management server sends the configuration information for service addressing or packet routing to the one or more target maritime vessels.
