PRINTING DEVICE AND PRINTING METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18545376 titled 'PRINTING DEVICE AND PRINTING METHOD

The patent application describes a printing device that includes a setting section for a print medium, a winding section to wind up the print medium, a print head to eject ink onto the print medium to form an image, and a drying furnace to dry the ink on the print medium.

  • The drying furnace includes a blowing heating section that blows heated gas onto the image forming surface of the print medium.
  • The blowing heating section has a first blowing heating section and a second blowing heating section.
  • The printing device has a first mode and a second mode, with different airflow speeds of the gas blown by the first blowing heating section in each mode.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Printing device with a drying furnace that uses heated gas to dry ink on the print medium.
  • Different modes for controlling the airflow speed of the gas blown onto the print medium.
  • Improved drying process for printed images.

Potential Applications:

  • Commercial printing industry for high-quality image printing.
  • Label printing for packaging and product labeling.
  • Signage printing for advertising and marketing materials.

Problems Solved:

  • Ensures fast and efficient drying of ink on the print medium.
  • Helps prevent smudging and smearing of printed images.
  • Enhances the overall print quality and durability.

Benefits:

  • Consistent and reliable drying of ink for high-quality prints.
  • Reduced production time for printing tasks.
  • Improved image resolution and color vibrancy.

Commercial Applications:

  • The technology can be used in commercial printing services, packaging companies, and advertising agencies to enhance print quality and efficiency.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the drying furnace in the printing device improve the overall print quality? 2. What are the specific advantages of using different airflow speeds in the drying process?

Frequently Updated Research: There may be ongoing research in the printing industry related to improving drying processes for printed images and optimizing print quality. Researchers may be exploring new materials and technologies to enhance the efficiency of printing devices.

Original Abstract Submitted

A printing device includes a setting section of a print medium P; a winding section configured to wind up the print medium P; a print head configured to form an image by ejecting ink onto the print medium P; and a drying furnace configured to dry the ink ejected onto the print medium P, wherein the drying furnace includes a blowing heating section for blowing heated gas G to the image forming surface P, the blowing heating section has a first blowing heating section A and a second blowing heating section B, a print mode includes a first mode and a second mode, and the airflow speed of gas G blown by the first blowing heating section A in the second mode is slower than the airflow speed of gas G blown by the first blowing heating section A in the first mode.
