INK JET RECORDING DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18491466 titled 'INK JET RECORDING DEVICE

The abstract describes an ink jet recording device with a waste ink container and a suction mechanism that removes gas from the container. The waste ink container has a suction port, a receiving port for ink, a porous absorbing member, and an air duct connecting the receiving port and the suction port. Additionally, there is a blocking member with lower gas permeability than the absorbing member, placed on a path from the receiving port to the suction port.

  • The ink jet recording device includes a waste ink container with a suction mechanism to remove gas.
  • The waste ink container has a suction port, a receiving port for ink, a porous absorbing member, and an air duct.
  • A blocking member with lower gas permeability is used to prevent gas from escaping through the absorbing member.
  • The suction mechanism ensures efficient removal of gas from the waste ink container.
  • This innovation helps maintain the functionality and cleanliness of the ink jet recording device.

Potential Applications: - Ink jet printers - Large format printers - Industrial printing machines

What are the potential long-term benefits of implementing this technology in industrial printing machines? - Implementing this technology can lead to reduced maintenance costs and improved print quality over time.

Original Abstract Submitted

An ink jet recording device includes a record head, a waste ink container, and a suction mechanism that sucks gas from the waste ink container. The waste ink container includes a suction port connected to the suction mechanism, a first receiving port that receives ink, a porous absorbing member, and a first air duct formed as a space without the absorbing member, so as to connect the first receiving port and the suction port. The waste ink container further includes a blocking member having a lower gas permeability than the absorbing member, and the blocking member is disposed on a path from the first receiving port to the suction port via inside the absorbing member without passing through the first air duct.
