A method comprises monitoring operation of one or more devices of an edge platform, collecting data corresponding to the operation of the one or more devices, and transmitting the data corresponding to the operation of the one or more devices over at least one communications network, via a first server, to a second server. The steps of the method are executed by a processing device operatively coupled to a memory. The processing device is a component of a network switch located in the edge platform.
