WELDING TOOLING AND WELDING DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18427322 titled 'WELDING TOOLING AND WELDING DEVICE

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a welding tooling system that includes a carrier, driving assembly, guide rail, slider, and multiple welding tip assemblies that can be adjusted in spacing.

  • The welding tooling system consists of a carrier that holds various components for welding.
  • A driving assembly is mounted on the carrier to provide motion to the system.
  • A guide rail is attached to the carrier, running along a specific direction for the movement of components.
  • A slider is assembled with the guide rail and can be driven by the driving assembly to move along the guide rail.
  • Multiple welding tip assemblies are arranged in an array, with at least one column mounted on the slider to adjust spacing from other columns.
  • The adjustment of spacing is achieved by moving the column of welding tip assemblies along with the slider in a direction perpendicular to the guide rail.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Adjustable spacing of welding tip assemblies.
  • Slider driven by a driving assembly for controlled movement.
  • Efficient array arrangement of welding tip assemblies.
  • Intersection of directions for versatile positioning.

Potential Applications: The welding tooling system can be used in various industries such as automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing for precise welding operations.

Problems Solved:

  • Inefficient spacing adjustment of welding tip assemblies.
  • Lack of controlled movement for welding components.
  • Limited versatility in positioning welding tip assemblies.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced precision in welding operations.
  • Improved efficiency in welding processes.
  • Versatile positioning for different welding requirements.

Commercial Applications: The welding tooling system can be utilized in automated welding systems for mass production, welding workshops for customized projects, and research facilities for experimental welding processes.

Prior Art: Readers can explore prior patents related to welding tooling systems, automated welding equipment, and precision welding technologies for further understanding of the field.

Questions about Welding Tooling: 1. What are the key components of a welding tooling system? 2. How does the adjustable spacing of welding tip assemblies improve welding operations?

Original Abstract Submitted

A welding tooling includes a carrier, a first driving assembly disposed on the carrier, a first guide rail disposed on the carrier and extending along a first direction, a first slider slidably assembled with the first guide rail and configured to be driven by the first driving assembly to move along the first guide rail, and a plurality of welding tip assemblies arranged in an array. At least one column of welding tip assemblies arranged in a second direction among the plurality of welding tip assemblies is assembled on the first slider and is configured to move along with the first slider to change a spacing from other columns of welding tip assemblies. The second direction intersects the first direction.
