DISPLAY PANEL AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18422612 titled 'DISPLAY PANEL AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE

The abstract describes a display panel and an electronic device that includes light emitting diodes and organic photoelectric conversion diodes to emit and convert light in the visible light wavelength spectrum.

  • Display panel with first, second, and third light emitting diodes emitting light of different wavelength spectra.
  • Organic photoelectric conversion diodes overlapping the light emitting diodes to convert absorbed light into electrical signals.
  • Each organic diode selectively absorbs a portion of the visible light spectrum.

Potential Applications: - Display technology for electronic devices. - Energy-efficient lighting solutions. - Photovoltaic applications for solar energy conversion.

Problems Solved: - Efficient light emission and conversion in a visible light spectrum. - Integration of different diodes for versatile functionality.

Benefits: - Improved energy efficiency. - Enhanced display quality. - Versatile applications in various industries.

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Display Technology for Electronic Devices This technology can be used in smartphones, tablets, TVs, and other electronic devices, improving display quality and energy efficiency, leading to better user experience and longer battery life.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the integration of different diodes improve the efficiency of light emission and conversion? 2. What are the potential environmental benefits of using this technology in energy-efficient lighting solutions?

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed are a display panel and an electronic device. The display panel may include a substrate, first, second, and third light emitting diodes on the substrate and configured to emit light of first, second, and third wavelength spectra in a visible light wavelength spectrum, respectively, and first, second, third organic photoelectric conversion diodes overlapping the first, second, and third light emitting diode along a thickness direction of the substrate, respectively, may be provided. Each of first, second, third organic photoelectric conversion diodes may be configured to selectively absorb a portion of the visible light wavelength spectrum and convert the absorbed light into an electrical signal.
