CSI REPORTING FOR MULTI-TRP COHERENT JOINT-TRANSMISSION - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18410904 titled 'CSI REPORTING FOR MULTI-TRP COHERENT JOINT-TRANSMISSION
Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes methods and apparatuses for reporting Channel State Information (CSI) for multi-transmit receive point coherent joint transmission.
- The method involves receiving a configuration about a CSI report, determining information based on the configuration, and partitioning the CSI report into two parts.
- The CSI Part 2 is further partitioned into three groups, G0, G1, and G2, with G1 containing frequency-domain offsets relative to a reference CSI-RS resource.
Key Features and Innovation:
- Reporting Channel State Information (CSI) for multi-transmit receive point coherent joint transmission.
- Partitioning the CSI report into two parts and further dividing one part into three groups.
- Including frequency-domain offsets in group G1 relative to a reference CSI-RS resource.
Potential Applications: This technology can be applied in wireless communication systems, particularly in multi-transmit receive point coherent joint transmission scenarios.
Problems Solved: This technology addresses the need for efficient and accurate reporting of Channel State Information (CSI) in complex transmission setups.
Benefits:
- Improved transmission efficiency and accuracy.
- Enhanced performance in multi-transmit receive point coherent joint transmission systems.
- Better utilization of resources for channel state reporting.
Commercial Applications: Potential commercial applications include telecommunications infrastructure, 5G networks, and other wireless communication systems requiring advanced CSI reporting capabilities.
Questions about Channel State Information (CSI) 1. How does this technology improve the efficiency of channel state reporting in multi-transmit receive point coherent joint transmission? 2. What are the key advantages of partitioning the CSI report into two parts and further dividing it into three groups?

Original Abstract Submitted
Methods and apparatuses for channel state information (CSI) reporting for multi-transmit receive point (TRP) coherent joint transmission (CJT). A method includes receiving a configuration about a CSI report. The configuration includes information about (i) NCSI reference signal (CSI-RS) resources. The method further includes, based on the configuration, determining information for the CSI report based on N CSI-RS resources; partitioning the CSI report into two parts, a CSI Part 1 and a CSI part 2; and partitioning the CSI Part 2 into three groups, G0, G1, and G2. The method further includes transmitting the CSI Part 1 and at least a portion of the CSI Part 2. The group G1 includes an indicator indicating, for each of Nâ1 CSI-RS resources of the N CSI-RS resources, a frequency-domain (FD) offset dâ{0, 1, . . . , NOâ1} relative to a reference CSI-RS resource.
