TISSUE SAMPLE DEVICE AND METHODS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18409271 titled 'TISSUE SAMPLE DEVICE AND METHODS
The abstract describes a tissue collection system for obtaining samples from the body, consisting of a tubular member with a lumen, an elongate shaft within the lumen, a tissue collection device at the distal end of the shaft, and a filter positioned proximal to the tissue collection device.
- Tubular member with a lumen for sample collection
- Elongate shaft slidably disposed within the tubular member
- Tissue collection device at the distal end of the shaft
- Filter positioned proximal to the tissue collection device
- System designed for efficient and accurate tissue sampling
Potential Applications: - Medical diagnostics - Research studies - Forensic investigations
Problems Solved: - Precise tissue sampling - Minimizing contamination - Improving sample collection efficiency
Benefits: - Accurate sample collection - Reduced risk of contamination - Enhanced research capabilities
Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Tissue Collection System for Medical and Research Use This technology can be utilized in medical facilities, research laboratories, and forensic departments for efficient and accurate tissue sampling, leading to improved diagnostic procedures and research outcomes.
Questions about Tissue Collection System: 1. How does the tissue collection system improve sample collection efficiency? The system allows for precise and accurate tissue sampling, reducing the risk of contamination and improving overall efficiency. 2. What are the potential applications of this technology beyond medical diagnostics? In addition to medical diagnostics, this system can be used in research studies and forensic investigations for accurate sample collection and analysis.
Original Abstract Submitted
A tissue collection system for collecting a sample from the body. The system may comprise a tubular member having a proximal end region and a distal end region and defining a lumen extending from the proximal end region to the distal end region, an elongate shaft slidably disposed within the lumen of the tubular member, the elongate shaft extending from a proximal end region to a distal end region, a tissue collection device disposed adjacent to the distal end region of the elongate shaft, and a filter positioned proximal to a distal end region of the tissue collection device when the tissue collection device is in a use configuration.
