VEHICLE BRAKING FORCE CONTROL DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18395637 titled 'VEHICLE BRAKING FORCE CONTROL DEVICE
Simplified Explanation:
The patent application describes a behavior stabilizer for a vehicle braking force control device that includes valves, a drive motor, and a hydraulic pressure generator. When the vehicle is turning at a specific speed or lower, the controller activates the electric actuator to apply braking force to the wheels while keeping the drive motor in a stopped state.
- The behavior stabilizer includes first valves for controlling hydraulic fluid to friction brakes, second valves for controlling fluid to reservoirs, and a drive motor for pumping fluid to the hydraulic pressure generator.
- During turning at a specific speed or lower, the controller activates the electric actuator to apply braking force to the wheels by controlling the first and second valves.
- The drive motor remains in a stopped state during the turning control to stabilize the vehicle's behavior.
Key Features and Innovation:
- Utilizes a combination of valves, a drive motor, and a hydraulic pressure generator to stabilize vehicle behavior during turning.
- Electric actuator is employed to apply braking force to the wheels while the drive motor remains inactive.
- Provides precise control over braking force distribution to ensure stability during turning maneuvers.
Potential Applications:
- Automotive industry for vehicle stability control systems.
- Autonomous vehicles for enhanced safety during turning.
- Racing industry for improved handling and performance.
Problems Solved:
- Ensures stability and control of the vehicle during turning maneuvers.
- Prevents skidding and loss of control by applying appropriate braking force.
- Enhances overall safety and performance of the vehicle.
Benefits:
- Improved vehicle stability during turning.
- Enhanced safety for drivers and passengers.
- Optimal distribution of braking force for better control.
Commercial Applications:
The technology can be applied in various commercial sectors such as automotive manufacturing, autonomous vehicle development, and racing industries. It offers a competitive advantage by providing enhanced stability and control during turning maneuvers, leading to improved safety and performance.
Questions about Vehicle Behavior Stabilizer: 1. How does the behavior stabilizer ensure precise control over braking force distribution? 2. What are the potential applications of this technology in the automotive industry?
Original Abstract Submitted
A behavior stabilizer of a vehicle braking force control device includes a plurality of first valves configured to control movement of a hydraulic fluid to respective friction brakes, second valves configured to control the movement of the hydraulic fluid to reservoirs, and a drive motor configured to drive pumps that pump the hydraulic fluid from the reservoirs into a path leading to a hydraulic pressure generator. When a vehicle is in a state of turning at a specific vehicle speed or lower, a controller executes a turning control to control operation of an electric actuator to cause the hydraulic pressure generator to generate hydraulic pressure, and to control open/closed states of the first valves and the second valves to apply a braking force to a plurality of wheels. The controller keeps the driving of the drive motor in a stopped state during the turning control.
