FLEXIBLE RACK CABINET DESIGN - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18301620 titled 'FLEXIBLE RACK CABINET DESIGN

The flexible orientation rack cabinet described in the patent application includes various panels and mounting flanges that allow for adjustment of U-space for server rails.

  • The top panel has a U-space adjustment portion, while the bottom panel also includes a U-space adjustment portion.
  • The first flexible mounting flange is connected to the first edge panel and has a U-space adjustment portion, as does the second flexible mounting flange connected to the second edge panel.
  • The cabinet can be oriented in a specific way when server rails are attached to the U-space adjustment portions.

Potential Applications: - Data centers - Server rooms - Telecommunications facilities

Problems Solved: - Efficient use of space in rack cabinets - Easy adjustment for different server rail sizes

Benefits: - Improved organization of server equipment - Flexibility in accommodating various server rail sizes

Commercial Applications: Title: "Flexible Rack Cabinets for Efficient Server Organization" This technology can be used in various industries where server equipment organization is crucial, such as data centers, telecommunications facilities, and server rooms. The market implications include improved efficiency in server maintenance and organization.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the flexible mounting flange system improve server rail adjustment in rack cabinets? 2. What are the key benefits of using a flexible orientation rack cabinet in a data center setting?

Original Abstract Submitted

A flexible orientation rack cabinet includes a top panel, a bottom panel, first and second edge panels, a first and second flexible mounting flanges. The top panel includes a first U-space adjustment portion. The bottom panel includes a second U-space adjustment portion. The first flexible mounting flange is in physical communication with the first edge panel and includes a third U-space adjustment portion. The second flexible mounting flange is in physical communication with the second edge panel and includes a fourth U-space adjustment portion. The flexible orientation rack cabinet is in a first orientation when multiple first server rails are attached to the first and second U-space adjustment portions.
