WTRU-TO-NETWORK RELAY ASSOCIATED WITH MINT - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18293943 titled 'WTRU-TO-NETWORK RELAY ASSOCIATED WITH MINT
The abstract of this patent application describes systems, methods, and instrumentalities for providing access to a network, where a WTRU may act as a relay to another WTRU in case of network disruptions.
- A WTRU can act as a relay to another WTRU, facilitating access to the network in case of service disruptions.
- The relay WTRU can assist a remote WTRU in discovering and establishing connections to the network.
- This technology enables seamless network access even when there are disruptions or issues with the current network.
Potential Applications: - Telecommunications networks - Emergency communication systems - IoT devices requiring continuous network connectivity
Problems Solved: - Addressing network disruptions - Ensuring continuous network access for devices - Facilitating communication in remote or challenging environments
Benefits: - Improved network reliability - Enhanced connectivity for devices - Seamless transition between networks
Commercial Applications: Title: "Relay Technology for Seamless Network Access" This technology can be used in telecommunications infrastructure, emergency response systems, and IoT devices to ensure uninterrupted network access and communication capabilities.
Questions about Relay Technology: 1. How does this technology improve network resilience in challenging environments? - This technology allows devices to maintain network connectivity even in the face of disruptions, ensuring reliable communication in challenging conditions.
2. What are the potential cost savings associated with using relay technology for network access? - By enabling seamless network access and reducing downtime, this technology can lead to cost savings in terms of improved efficiency and productivity.
Original Abstract Submitted
Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are described herein that are associated with providing access to a network (e.g., if access to a different network is lost, affected, etc.). A WTRU may act as a relay to another WTRU, For example, a first VVTRU may act as a relay WTRU (e.g., a VVTRU to network relay, such as a proximity services (ProSe) WTRU to network relay) towards a second WTRU (e.g., a remote WTRU). The first WTRU may provide discovery and/or connection establishment associated with the second WTRU accessing the network (e.g., if there is a service disruption to another network).
