HANDOVER INFORMATION REPORTING METHOD AND USER EQUIPMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18292320 titled 'HANDOVER INFORMATION REPORTING METHOD AND USER EQUIPMENT
The present disclosure introduces a handover information reporting method and user equipment for telecommunications systems.
- User equipment (UE) performs a legacy handover procedure.
- If the UE is configured with a conditional handover (CHO), it sets first time information in a successful handover report (SHR) or second time information in a radio link failure report (RLF-report) based on the handover outcome.
- When the target cell of the handover is a candidate cell in the CHO configuration stored by the UE, the first time or second time information is set as the time elapsed between receiving the latest CHO configuration and starting the handover.
- The legacy handover procedure involves immediately applying a configuration in a handover command upon receiving the command.
Potential Applications: - This technology can be applied in cellular networks to improve handover procedures for better network performance. - It can enhance the efficiency of communication between user equipment and base stations in wireless networks.
Problems Solved: - Streamlining handover processes in telecommunications systems. - Enhancing the reliability and effectiveness of handover procedures in mobile networks.
Benefits: - Improved network connectivity and seamless handover experiences for users. - Enhanced performance and efficiency in wireless communication systems.
Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Handover Information Reporting for Telecommunications Systems This technology can be utilized by telecommunications companies to optimize handover procedures in their networks, leading to improved service quality and customer satisfaction. It can also benefit equipment manufacturers by providing innovative solutions for enhancing network performance.
Questions about Enhanced Handover Information Reporting: 1. How does the conditional handover (CHO) configuration improve handover procedures in user equipment? 2. What are the potential implications of this technology on the efficiency of cellular networks?
Frequently Updated Research: Researchers are continually exploring ways to enhance handover procedures in telecommunications systems to meet the increasing demands for seamless connectivity and improved network performance. Stay updated on the latest advancements in this field to leverage the benefits of innovative technologies like enhanced handover information reporting.
Original Abstract Submitted
Provided in the present disclosure are a handover information reporting method and user equipment. The handover information reporting method includes: performing, by user equipment (UE), a legacy handover procedure; if the UE is configured with a conditional handover (CHO), setting, by the UE according to whether a target cell of a handover is a candidate cell in a CHO configuration stored by the UE, first time information in a successful handover report (SHR) when the handover succeeds or second time information in a radio link failure report (RLF-report) when the handover fails; and if the target cell of the handover is a candidate cell in the CHO configuration stored by the UE, setting the first time information or the second time information to be: the time elapsed between the UE receiving a corresponding latest CHO configuration including the candidate cell and the UE starting to perform the handover, wherein the legacy handover procedure is a handover procedure performed by the UE by immediately applying a configuration in a handover command upon receiving the handover command.
