An apparatus and a method in a terminal device, the method comprising: receiving () a retransmission grant for a data packet for a Hybrid Automatic Repeat request process; based on at least one configuration parameter, determining () whether a condition for the Hybrid Automatic Repeat request process is met; and in accordance with a determination that the condition is met, skipping the retransmission of the data packet indicated in the retransmission grant. An apparatus and a method in a network device, the method comprising: configuring at least one configuration parameter for a Hybrid Automatic Repeat request process; and sending () the at least one configuration parameter to at least one terminal device (), wherein the at least one configuration parameter indicates the at least one terminal device a condition under which the at least one terminal device () skips at least one retransmission of a data packet in the Hybrid Automatic Repeat request process.
