ACTIVATION AND RECOVERY OF SPS TRANSMISSIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18272670 titled 'ACTIVATION AND RECOVERY OF SPS TRANSMISSIONS

The abstract describes a method for operating a network node and wireless devices to activate or release semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) of a group-common SPS transmission for a group of wireless devices.

  • Preparation of a command to activate or release SPS for a group of wireless devices
  • Transmission of the command to a wireless device in the group
  • Receiving the command by the wireless device
  • Activating or releasing the group-common SPS transmission in response to the command

Potential Applications: - Wireless communication networks - Mobile devices - Internet of Things (IoT) devices

Problems Solved: - Efficient management of SPS in wireless networks - Optimization of transmission schedules for groups of devices

Benefits: - Improved network performance - Enhanced resource allocation - Reduced interference in wireless communications

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Wireless Network Management System" This technology can be utilized in telecommunications companies, IoT providers, and network infrastructure companies to optimize wireless communication systems and improve overall network efficiency.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does this method improve the performance of wireless networks? 2. What are the key advantages of using group-common SPS transmission in wireless communication systems?

Original Abstract Submitted

A method of operating a network node includes preparing a command that activates or releases semi-persistent scheduling, SPS, of a group-common SPS transmission for a group of wireless devices, and transmitting the command to a wireless device in the group of wireless devices. A method of operating a wireless device includes receiving a command that activates or releases SPS of a group-common SPS transmission, and activating or releasing the group-common SPS transmission in response to the command. Related network nodes and wireless devices are disclosed.
