LARGE SQUARE BALER WITH CONTROLLABLE FEEDER SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18150480 titled 'LARGE SQUARE BALER WITH CONTROLLABLE FEEDER SYSTEM
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a baler implement that uses a crop sensor to monitor the amount of crop material in a pre-compression chamber. When the sensor detects that the chamber is full, a controller releases a lock to allow a feeder fork to move the crop material into a compression chamber for baling.
- The baler implement includes a crop sensor to monitor crop material quantity.
- A controller executes a feeder control algorithm based on data from the sensor.
- When the quantity of crop material reaches a threshold, an actuator releases a lock.
- The feeder fork moves the crop material from the pre-compression chamber to the compression chamber for baling.
Potential Applications
This technology can be used in agricultural machinery for efficient baling of crop materials such as hay, straw, or silage.
Problems Solved
This innovation addresses the challenge of automating the process of transferring crop material from a pre-compression chamber to a compression chamber in a baler.
Benefits
- Improved efficiency in baling operations - Reduction in manual labor required for moving crop material - Enhanced consistency in bale formation
Commercial Applications
Title: Automated Crop Transfer System for Baling Machinery This technology can be applied in the agricultural sector for hay, straw, and silage baling machines, increasing productivity and reducing labor costs.
Questions about the Technology
How does the crop sensor accurately measure the quantity of crop material in the pre-compression chamber?
The crop sensor uses advanced technology to accurately sense the amount of crop material present in the chamber, providing precise data for the controller to act upon.
What are the potential maintenance requirements for the feeder fork and actuator in this system?
Regular maintenance and lubrication of the feeder fork and actuator may be necessary to ensure smooth operation and longevity of the baler implement.
Original Abstract Submitted
A baler implement includes a crop sensor operable to sense data related to a quantity of the crop material accumulated within a pre-compression chamber. A baler controller is operable to execute a feeder control algorithm to receive a quantity signal from the crop sensor. When the quantity signal indicates that the quantity of the crop material accumulated within the pre-compression chamber is equal to or greater than a quantity threshold, the baler controller may then signal an actuator to release a lock, thereby allowing a feeder fork to move from a retracted position to an extended position thereof to move the crop material from the pre-compression chamber to a compression chamber for baling.
