DRYER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18102436 titled 'DRYER

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a dryer with a drum that rotates inside a cabinet and a hot air supply device to provide hot air to the drum. The drum includes a rear plate with a hot air supply hole and a hot air supply rod that protrudes towards the front of the drum. The hot air supply rod has a humidity sensor to measure the humidity of the object being dried and a self-generation device to generate power for the humidity sensor using a rotating magnet.

  • The dryer has a drum that rotates inside a cabinet and is supplied with hot air.
  • The drum has a rear plate with a hot air supply hole for the hot air to flow towards the drum.
  • The drum also has a hot air supply rod that extends towards the front of the drum.
  • The hot air supply rod has a humidity sensor to measure the humidity of the object being dried.
  • The hot air supply rod has a self-generation device that generates power using a rotating magnet on the drum.
  • The power generated by the self-generation device is supplied to the humidity sensor.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Household dryers for drying clothes and other fabrics.
  • Industrial dryers for drying various materials in manufacturing processes.
  • Commercial dryers used in laundromats and other commercial settings.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Provides a more efficient and accurate way to measure the humidity of the object being dried.
  • Eliminates the need for external power sources for the humidity sensor.
  • Simplifies the design of the dryer by integrating the humidity sensor and power generation into the hot air supply rod.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved drying performance by accurately measuring the humidity of the object being dried.
  • Energy-saving as the power for the humidity sensor is generated by the rotating drum.
  • Simplified design and reduced complexity of the dryer.

Original Abstract Submitted

A dryer comprises: a cabinet; a drum rotatable inside the cabinet; and a hot air supply device for supplying the inside of the drum with hot air. The drum includes: a rear plate to be arranged on the rear side of the drum, the rear plate including a hot air supply hole through which hot air flows toward the drum; and a hot air supply rod protruding along a direction toward the front of the drum and through which the hot air from the hot air supply hole flows toward the drum, the hot air supply rod includes: a humidity sensor to be arranged on the front of the hot air supply rod to measure the humidity of object to be dried; and a self-generation device to generate power as a magnet rotatable with the drum rotates, to supply power generated to the humidity sensor.
