WEARABLE DEVICE AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18076467 titled 'WEARABLE DEVICE AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a wearable device that includes a motor, a motor driver circuit, a frame, a processor, and a sensor. The device is designed to support the body of the user and provide an exercise load based on the user's body motion.

  • The wearable device includes a motor, motor driver circuit, frame, processor, and sensor.
  • The frame is worn on the user's body to support their body.
  • The processor generates a control signal to control the motor driver circuit.
  • The sensor detects the body motion of the user.
  • The processor adjusts the exercise load provided by the frame based on the speed of the user's body motion.
  • The exercise load is controlled by changing the electrical connection in the motor driver circuit between a closed loop and an open loop.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Fitness and exercise devices that provide adjustable resistance based on the user's body motion.
  • Rehabilitation devices that assist in supporting and providing resistance during physical therapy.
  • Virtual reality systems that provide haptic feedback based on the user's movements.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Provides a wearable device that can support the body and provide an exercise load based on the user's body motion.
  • Allows for adjustable resistance during exercise or rehabilitation activities.
  • Enables haptic feedback in virtual reality systems to enhance the user's immersion and interaction.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Provides a more personalized and tailored exercise experience based on the user's body motion.
  • Can assist in rehabilitation and physical therapy by providing support and resistance.
  • Enhances the user's immersion and interaction in virtual reality systems through haptic feedback.

Original Abstract Submitted

A wearable device may include a motor, a motor driver circuit, a frame connected to the motor, the frame to be worn on the body of the user to support the body, a processor configured to generate a control signal to control an electrical connection in the motor driver circuit, and a sensor configured to sense a body motion of the user. The processor is further configured to provide an exercise load through the frame according to a speed of the sensed body motion by controlling, based on the speed of the body motion, a changing ratio per time between a first control state in which the electrical connection in the motor driver circuit is a closed loop and a second control state in which the electrical connection in the motor driver circuit is an open loop.
