SEMI-COMPACT PHOTOACOUSTIC DEVICES AND SYSTEMS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18069885 titled 'SEMI-COMPACT PHOTOACOUSTIC DEVICES AND SYSTEMS
The apparatus described in the patent application includes a platen, a light source system, and an ultrasonic receiver system. The platen is designed to separate arterial ultrasonic waves from other types of ultrasonic waves, with an outer surface that mimics human skin's acoustic impedance and conforms to the skin's surface. The apparatus also features a noise reduction system, a light source system with multi-junction laser diodes, and a mirror layer between the ultrasonic receiver system and the platen.
- The platen separates arterial ultrasonic waves from other types of waves.
- The platen's outer surface mimics human skin's acoustic impedance and conforms to the skin's surface.
- The apparatus includes a noise reduction system for improved signal quality.
- The light source system utilizes multi-junction laser diodes for efficient light emission.
- A mirror layer is present between the ultrasonic receiver system and the platen for enhanced performance.
Potential Applications: - Medical imaging for arterial health assessment - Non-invasive monitoring of blood flow in arteries - Research in cardiovascular diseases and conditions
Problems Solved: - Accurate separation of arterial ultrasonic waves from other types of waves - Improved signal quality and noise reduction for precise measurements
Benefits: - Enhanced accuracy in arterial ultrasonic wave detection - Non-invasive and comfortable for patients - Efficient and reliable monitoring of arterial health
Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Arterial Ultrasonic Wave Detection System for Medical Imaging This technology can be utilized in medical imaging devices for non-invasive monitoring of arterial health, catering to healthcare providers, research institutions, and medical device manufacturers. The market implications include improved diagnostic capabilities and enhanced patient care in the field of cardiovascular health.
Questions about Arterial Ultrasonic Wave Detection System: 1. How does the platen in the apparatus separate arterial ultrasonic waves from other types of waves? 2. What are the potential commercial applications of this technology in the healthcare industry?
Original Abstract Submitted
An apparatus may include a platen, a light source system and an ultrasonic receiver system. The platen may be configured to separate one or more received arterial ultrasonic waves generated by blood in an artery, by an arterial wall, or by a combination thereof, from one or more other types of received ultrasonic waves. The platen may have an outer surface with an acoustic impedance that is configured to approximate the acoustic impedance of human skin. The outer surface of the platen may be configured to conform to a surface of the human skin. The apparatus may include a noise reduction system. The light source system may include at least one multi-junction laser diode. The apparatus may include a mirror layer residing between the ultrasonic receiver system and the platen.
