ROAD DEBRIS DETECTION AND REMOVAL SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18062248 titled 'ROAD DEBRIS DETECTION AND REMOVAL SYSTEM
The road debris detection system described in the patent application involves a data processor that communicates wirelessly with a base facility. The base facility houses multiple specialized aerial response vehicles that can be deployed to address specific tasks related to road debris.
- The data processor receives data about the roadway and determines if debris is present.
- If debris is detected, the system assesses the nature of the debris and selects an appropriate aerial response vehicle from the fleet based on the type, size, and weight of the debris.
- The chosen aerial response vehicle is then deployed to remove or move the debris from the roadway.
Potential Applications: - Highway maintenance and safety operations - Emergency response for road accidents involving debris - Environmental cleanup efforts along roadways
Problems Solved: - Efficient and targeted removal of road debris - Minimization of traffic disruptions caused by debris on roadways - Improved safety for drivers and pedestrians
Benefits: - Swift response to road debris incidents - Customized approach to debris removal based on specific characteristics - Enhanced overall road safety and maintenance
Commercial Applications: - Municipalities for road maintenance operations - Private companies specializing in roadside assistance and cleanup services - Emergency response agencies for quick deployment in case of accidents
Prior Art: No specific information on prior art related to this technology is provided in the abstract.
Frequently Updated Research: There is no information on frequently updated research relevant to this technology in the abstract.
Questions about Road Debris Detection System: 1. How does the system determine the nature of the detected debris? 2. What factors are considered when selecting the appropriate aerial response vehicle for debris removal?
Original Abstract Submitted
A road debris detection system includes a data processor in wireless communication with a base facility, the base facility including a plurality of aerial response vehicles adapted to be deployed from the base facility, each of the plurality of aerial response vehicles being specialized to perform specific tasks, the data processor adapted to receive data related to a roadway, assess if debris is present within the roadway, and when debris is present within the roadway assess the nature of the detected debris, select an aerial response vehicle from the plurality of aerial response vehicles at the base facility that is specialized to remove/move the detected debris and is capable based on the type, size and weight of the detected debris, and deploy the selected aerial response vehicle to clean-up the debris.
