DATA TRANSMISSION METHOD AND APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17953500 titled 'DATA TRANSMISSION METHOD AND APPARATUS
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a method and apparatus for data transmission. Here is a simplified explanation of the abstract:
- The method involves a source access network device receiving an end marker from a core network device through a transmission tunnel of a PDU session of a first terminal device.
- The PDU session is associated with a first multicast/broadcast service.
- In response to the end marker, the source access network device determines that it should stop sending data of the first multicast/broadcast service to a target access network device through a forwarding tunnel of the first terminal device.
Potential applications of this technology:
- This technology can be applied in communication networks where multicast or broadcast services are used.
- It can be used in scenarios where data transmission needs to be controlled and managed efficiently.
Problems solved by this technology:
- This technology solves the problem of efficiently stopping the transmission of data for a specific multicast/broadcast service.
- It provides a mechanism to control the flow of data in a network, ensuring that data is only sent to the intended recipients.
Benefits of this technology:
- The method and apparatus described in the patent application provide a more efficient way to manage data transmission in multicast/broadcast services.
- It allows for better control and management of network resources, optimizing the overall performance of the network.
- By stopping the transmission of data for a specific multicast/broadcast service when necessary, it helps to conserve bandwidth and reduce unnecessary network traffic.
Original Abstract Submitted
A data transmission method and apparatus. The method includes: a source access network device that receives an end marker from a core network device through a transmission tunnel of a PDU session of a first terminal device, where the PDU session is associated with a first multicast/broadcast service; and in response to the end marker, the source access network device determines, based on the association between the PDU session and the first multicast/broadcast service, that the end marker acts on the first multicast/broadcast service of the first terminal device, to stop sending data of the first multicast/broadcast service to a target access network device through a forwarding tunnel of the first terminal device.
