Display Substrate and Display Device - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17915113 titled 'Display Substrate and Display Device

The patent application describes a display substrate with a base substrate, first-region light emitting elements, and first-region pixel circuits.

  • The base substrate has a display region and a peripheral region, with the display region containing a transparent display area.
  • Multiple first-region light emitting elements and first-region pixel circuits are situated within the transparent display region.
  • Some first-region pixel circuits are connected to multiple first-region light emitting elements emitting the same color light.
  • The orthographic projection of at least one first-region pixel circuit overlaps with the orthographic projection of at least one first-region light emitting element on the base substrate.

Potential Applications: - This technology could be used in the development of high-resolution displays for electronic devices. - It may find applications in the manufacturing of advanced LED screens for televisions and monitors.

Problems Solved: - Enhances the efficiency and performance of display substrates by optimizing the arrangement of light emitting elements and pixel circuits.

Benefits: - Improved display quality and color accuracy. - Increased energy efficiency and longevity of display screens.

Commercial Applications: - This technology could be valuable for electronics manufacturers looking to enhance the quality of their display products and gain a competitive edge in the market.

Questions about the Technology: 1. How does the arrangement of multiple first-region light emitting elements connected to a single pixel circuit improve display performance? 2. What are the potential implications of this technology for the future of display technology?

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed is a display substrate, which includes a base substrate, a plurality of first-region light emitting elements and a plurality of first-region pixel circuit. The base substrate includes a display region and a peripheral region at least partially surrounding the display region, wherein the display region includes a transparent display region. A plurality of first-region light emitting elements and a plurality of first-region pixel circuits are located in the transparent display region. At least one first-region pixel circuit of the plurality of first-region pixel circuits is electrically connected with at least two first-region light emitting elements emitting light in a same color. An orthographic projection of at least one first-region pixel circuit on the base substrate is overlapped with an orthographic projection of at least one first-region light emitting element on the base substrate.
