COMMUNICATION METHOD AND COMMUNICATIONS APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17884842 titled 'COMMUNICATION METHOD AND COMMUNICATIONS APPARATUS
Simplified Explanation
The present disclosure is about a communication method and apparatus that improve the efficiency of power saving and resource management in wireless communication networks.
- The method involves determining whether a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) is detected within a specific time period called a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle.
- If the PDCCH is not detected, the method proceeds to perform radio resource management (RRM) measurement on a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) sent by a network device.
- This allows the communication apparatus to gather information about the channel state and make informed decisions about resource allocation and power saving.
Potential applications of this technology:
- This technology can be applied in various wireless communication networks, including cellular networks, Wi-Fi networks, and IoT networks.
- It can improve the efficiency of power saving mechanisms, allowing devices to conserve energy when there is no active communication.
- The technology can enhance resource management, enabling better allocation of network resources based on real-time channel conditions.
Problems solved by this technology:
- The method solves the problem of inefficient power consumption in wireless communication devices by intelligently determining when to enter power-saving modes.
- It addresses the challenge of resource allocation in dynamic network environments by providing accurate channel state information for better decision-making.
Benefits of this technology:
- Improved power efficiency leads to longer battery life for wireless devices, reducing the need for frequent recharging.
- Enhanced resource management ensures optimal utilization of network resources, resulting in improved network performance and user experience.
- The method enables faster and more reliable communication by making informed decisions based on real-time channel measurements.
Original Abstract Submitted
The present disclosure relates to communication method and a communications apparatus. One example method includes determining, based on a receiving status of a first power saving signal, that a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) is not detected within a first discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle; and performing, in a first time period within the first DRX cycle, radio resource management (RRM) measurement on a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) sent by a network device.
