INTRA-CELL UE-TO-UE CROSS LINK INTERFERENCE MANAGEMENT AT FULL-DUPLEX OPERATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17758298 titled 'INTRA-CELL UE-TO-UE CROSS LINK INTERFERENCE MANAGEMENT AT FULL-DUPLEX OPERATION
Simplified Explanation
The patent application discusses methods and systems for a user equipment (UE) to manage and measure intra-cell cross link interference (CLI) when served by a base station operating in full-duplex FDD. The UE can measure CLI from aggressor UEs using resources not scheduled for downlink reception, and report these measurements to the base station for scheduling adjustments.
Key Features and Innovation
- UE manages and measures intra-cell cross link interference (CLI) when served by a base station operating in full-duplex FDD.
- Signaling indicates victim UE resources to measure CLI from aggressor UEs.
- Victim UE uses resources not scheduled for downlink reception to measure CLI.
- Victim UE reports CLI measurements to base station for scheduling adjustments.
- Signaling indicates victim UE locations of potentially impacted downlink symbols.
Potential Applications
This technology can be applied in wireless communication systems to improve interference management and optimize resource allocation for UEs.
Problems Solved
- Efficient management and measurement of intra-cell cross link interference (CLI).
- Optimization of resource allocation for UEs in the presence of interference.
Benefits
- Enhanced interference management in wireless communication systems.
- Improved downlink reception for UEs by adjusting scheduling based on CLI measurements.

Questions about UE Management of Intra-Cell Cross Link Interference
How does the signaling from the base station help the victim UE measure CLI from aggressor UEs?
The signaling indicates victim UE resources to measure CLI, enabling the victim UE to determine the level of interference from aggressor UEs.
What are the potential implications of adjusting downlink resource scheduling based on CLI measurements?
Adjusting downlink resource scheduling based on CLI measurements can improve the overall performance and efficiency of the wireless communication system by mitigating interference effects.
Original Abstract Submitted
Methods and systems are disclosed for a UE to manage and measure intra-cell cross link interference (CLI) when served by a base station operating in full-duplex FDD. The signaling may indicate to a victim UE resources to measure to determine the level of CLI from aggressor UEs. The resources used for the CLI measurement may be resources not scheduled by the base station for use by the victim UE for downlink reception, but are scheduled for use by the aggressor UEs for transmitting uplink traffic or for transmitting reference signals used to characterize the uplink channel. The victim UE may report the CLI measurements to the base station for the base station to adjust scheduling of downlink resources to the victim UE. In one aspect, the signaling from the base station may indicate to the victim UE the locations of scheduled downlink symbols that may potentially be impacted by CLI.
