SULFOBETAINE-MODIFIED POLYURETHANE OR POLYUREA FOAM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17754838 titled 'SULFOBETAINE-MODIFIED POLYURETHANE OR POLYUREA FOAM
Simplified Explanation
The hydrophilic foam described in the patent application is made from a polymer formed from a betaine prepolymer, which is a reaction product of a betaine compound and a polyfunctional isocyanate compound. The betaine compound has a specific formula, while the isocyanate compound has a different formula.
- The polymer in the hydrophilic foam is derived from a betaine prepolymer.
- The betaine prepolymer is formed by reacting a betaine compound with one or more polyether glycols and a polyfunctional isocyanate compound.
- The betaine compound has a specific formula with hydrocarbon groups and an anionic functional group.
- The isocyanate compound has a specific formula with aliphatic or carbocyclic groups.
