20240073955.RANDOM ACCESS CHANNEL (RACH) RESPONSE (RAR) RECEPTION IN AN UNLICENSED RADIO FREQUENCY (RF) SPECTRUM BAND_simplified_abstract_(qualcomm incorporated)

Inventor(s): Ozcan OZTURK of San Diego CA (US) for qualcomm incorporated, Xiaoxia Zhang of San Diego CA (US) for qualcomm incorporated, Tao Luo of San Diego CA (US) for qualcomm incorporated, Jing Sun of San Diego CA (US) for qualcomm incorporated

IPC Code(s): H04W74/08, H04L12/413, H04W16/14, H04W72/23, H04W74/00

Abstract: this disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses to enable a user equipment (ue) and a base station to improve reception of a random access response (rar) by the ue in an unlicensed spectrum. a network may define a procedure for calculating a random access radio network temporary identifier (ra-rnti) specific to unlicensed spectrum based on an extended rar window. the calculation procedure may allow ues transmitting in the window to calculate a unique ra-rnti and identify a rar addressed to the ue using the unique ra-rnti. additionally, or alternatively, a base station may transmit a rar including timing information associated with a corresponding random access request. accordingly, a ue may receive the rar and compare the timing information with its own random access request in order to determine whether the rar is addressed to the ue. additionally, a ue may monitor a secondary cell or a sub-band for the rar.

IPC Code(s): H04W76/28, H04W72/23

Abstract: example implementations include a method, apparatus and computer-readable medium of wireless communication over a sidelink between a first user equipment (ue) and a second ue. the first ue may receive, from a base station, a sidelink resource configuration indicating physical sidelink control channel (pscch)/physical sidelink shared channel (pssch) occasions on which to monitor a pscch for a grant from a second ue. the first ue may determine an active time for monitoring the pscch based on a discontinuous reception (drx) mode for a link with the base station, the drx mode including an active state in which a physical downlink control channel (pdcch) is monitored and an inactive state in which the pdcch is not monitored. the first ue may monitor the pscch during one or more of the pscch/pssch occasions that coincide with the active time.

Inventor(s): Juan ZHANG of Beijing (CN) for qualcomm incorporated, Miguel GRIOT of La Jolla CA (US) for qualcomm incorporated

IPC Code(s): H04W76/30, H04W68/00

Abstract: methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. a user equipment (ue) may transmit a first control message to a radio access network (ran) node which requests termination of paging by the core network. the ran node may forward the first control message to the core network, and the core network may transmit a first non-access stratum (nas) message including a reallocation of a temporary identifier associated with the paging message, and a set of release assistance parameters to the ran. the set of release assistance parameters may notify the ran to trigger a service release upon re-reallocation of the temporary identifier to the ue, and the ue may transmit the second uplink nas message to the ran. based on receiving the second nas message, the ran may trigger the service release of the ue.
