APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR GENERATING CLOCK SIGNALS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18353607 titled 'APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR GENERATING CLOCK SIGNALS

Simplified Explanation

The abstract of this patent application describes a clock generator circuit that generates internal data clock signals based on one clock signal responsive to another clock signal. The internal data clock signals can be generated from a system clock signal responsive to a data clock signal, by sampling the system clock signal. A latch is used to latch a state of the system clock signal responsive to the data clock signal, and the latch outputs the internal data clock signal.

  • The clock generator circuit generates internal data clock signals based on clock signals.
  • The internal data clock signals are generated from a system clock signal responsive to a data clock signal.
  • The system clock signal is sampled to generate the internal data clock signals.
  • The sampling is performed responsive to the data clock signal.
  • A latch is used to latch a state of the system clock signal responsive to the data clock signal.
  • The latch outputs the internal data clock signal.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Integrated circuits and electronic devices that require precise timing and synchronization.

  • Improves the reliability and performance of integrated circuits and electronic devices.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enables precise timing and synchronization in various applications.
  • Enhances the efficiency and accuracy of data transmission and processing.
  • Simplifies the design and implementation of clock generation circuits.

Original Abstract Submitted

A clock generator circuit may generate internal data clock signals, such as quadrature phase clock signals, based at least in part, on one clock signal responsive, at least in part, to another clock signal. In some examples, the internal data clock signals may be generated from a system clock signal responsive to a data clock signal. In some examples, the internal data clock signal may be generated by sampling the system clock signal. In some examples, the sampling may be performed responsive to the data clock signal. In some examples, a latch may latch a state of the system clock signal responsive to the data clock signal. The latch may output the internal data clock signal.
