CONFIGURABLE TYPES OF WRITE OPERATIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17818613 titled 'CONFIGURABLE TYPES OF WRITE OPERATIONS

Simplified Explanation

    • Explanation:**

The patent application describes methods, systems, and devices for configurable types of write operations in a memory system. The memory device can identify a physical address to store data based on a cursor associated with the zone where the data will be written. The cursor is associated with a type of write operation based on the quantity of data associated with it. The memory device can then write the data using either a first type or a second type of write operation, depending on the quantity of data and the type of operation indicated by the cursor.

    • Potential Applications:**

- Memory systems - Data storage devices - Computer systems

    • Problems Solved:**

- Efficient utilization of memory space - Flexibility in choosing write operation types based on data quantity - Improved performance in memory write operations

    • Benefits:**

- Optimal use of memory resources - Customizable write operations for different data sizes - Enhanced memory system performance and efficiency

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and devices for configurable types of write operations are described. A memory device may receive a write command to write data in a zone of a memory system. The memory device may identify a physical address to store the data using a cursor associated with the zone based at least in part on receiving the write command. In some examples, the cursor may be associated with a type of a write operation based on a quantity of data associated with the cursor. As such, the memory device write, using a first type of the write operation or a second type of the write operation in accordance with the quantity of data, the data, and an indication of the type of the write operation used to write the data into the memory system.
