BLOCKCHAIN-BASED ELECTRONIC VOTING SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH ZERO-KNOWLEDGE PROOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240265761 titled 'BLOCKCHAIN-BASED ELECTRONIC VOTING SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH ZERO-KNOWLEDGE PROOF

The abstract describes a blockchain-based electronic voting device that utilizes zero-knowledge proof for secure electronic voting. The device includes a communication interface to interact with voter terminals carried by voters, issuing real and fake voting keys, assigning unique numbers to electronic votes, and verifying the authenticity of votes.

  • Communication interface for interaction with voter terminals
  • Issuing real and fake voting keys for secure voting
  • Assigning unique numbers to electronic votes
  • Verifying the authenticity of votes using real voting keys and secret values

Potential Applications: - Secure electronic voting in elections - Secure online surveys and polls - Secure decision-making processes in organizations

Problems Solved: - Ensuring the security and authenticity of electronic votes - Preventing fraud and manipulation in voting processes

Benefits: - Increased trust in electronic voting systems - Enhanced security and privacy for voters - Efficient and accurate electronic voting processes

Commercial Applications: Title: Secure Electronic Voting Device for Elections This technology can be used in government elections, corporate decision-making processes, and online surveys to ensure secure and authentic voting.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the device ensure the authenticity of electronic votes? The device uses real voting keys and secret values provided by voter terminals to verify the authenticity of electronic votes.

2. What are the potential applications of this technology beyond electronic voting? This technology can also be used in secure online surveys, polls, and decision-making processes in various organizations.

Original Abstract Submitted

a blockchain-based electronic voting device with the zero-knowledge proof includes a communication interface to communicates with a voter terminal carried by each of voters to perform an electronic vote, and a controller for issuing one real voting key and at least one fake voting key to the voter terminal to proceed with the electronic vote, assigning a secret value provided by the voter terminal as a unique number of the electronic vote during the electronic voting process, and performing an operation of determining and verifying an authenticity of the electronic vote based on the real voting key and the secret value.
