ALERTING AND REMEDIATING AGENTS AND MANAGED APPLIANCES IN A MULTI-CLOUD COMPUTING SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240248833 titled 'ALERTING AND REMEDIATING AGENTS AND MANAGED APPLIANCES IN A MULTI-CLOUD COMPUTING SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a method for alerting and remediation in a multi-cloud computing system involving a public cloud and a data center. It involves receiving event and log information from endpoint software in the data center, generating an incident in response to this information, sending a remediation task to a coordinator agent in the data center, and executing remediation of the endpoint software.

  • Receiving event and log information from endpoint software in the data center
  • Generating an incident based on the received information
  • Sending a remediation task to a coordinator agent in the data center
  • Executing remediation of the endpoint software based on the task

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Integration of remediation and troubleshooting software in a multi-cloud environment
  • Automated incident response and remediation tasks
  • Communication between public cloud and data center for efficient troubleshooting
  • Utilization of a coordinator agent for executing remediation tasks

Potential Applications:

  • Cloud computing systems
  • IT infrastructure management
  • Network security operations

Problems Solved:

  • Streamlining incident response in multi-cloud environments
  • Enhancing efficiency in troubleshooting and remediation processes
  • Improving communication between public cloud and data center

Benefits:

  • Faster resolution of issues in cloud computing systems
  • Reduced downtime and improved system reliability
  • Enhanced security through proactive incident response

Commercial Applications: The technology can be applied in various industries that rely on cloud computing services, such as IT companies, e-commerce platforms, and financial institutions. It can streamline operations, improve system reliability, and enhance security measures.

Prior Art: Further research can be conducted on existing patents related to incident response and remediation in multi-cloud environments, as well as coordination mechanisms between public clouds and data centers.

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on advancements in multi-cloud computing systems, incident response technologies, and coordination mechanisms for efficient troubleshooting in cloud environments.

Questions about Multi-Cloud Computing: 1. How does the coordination between the public cloud and data center improve incident response? 2. What are the potential challenges in implementing remediation tasks in a multi-cloud environment?

Original Abstract Submitted

an example method of alerting and remediation in a multi-cloud computing system having a public cloud in communication with a data center includes: receiving, at remediation and troubleshooting software executing in the public cloud, event and log information generated by endpoint software executing in the data center during operation thereof; generating, at the remediation and troubleshooting software, an incident in response to the event and log information; sending, by a remediation and troubleshooting service (rts) of the remediation and troubleshooting software in response to the incident, a remediation task to a coordinator agent over a message fabric, the coordinator agent executing in an agent platform appliance of the data center; and executing, by the coordinator agent, remediation of the endpoint software according to the remediation task.
