STOP LINE SEARCHING DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240242324 titled 'STOP LINE SEARCHING DEVICE

The patent application describes a stop line searching device for vehicles that includes an image acquisition unit, a traffic light detection unit, and a setting unit.

  • The image acquisition unit captures an image of the front side of the vehicle.
  • The traffic light detection unit detects traffic lights at intersections based on the captured image.
  • The setting unit establishes a stop line searching area based on the detection of front and rear side traffic lights at intersections.

Potential Applications: - Autonomous vehicles - Traffic management systems - Driver assistance systems

Problems Solved: - Improving intersection safety - Enhancing traffic flow efficiency

Benefits: - Increased road safety - Reduced traffic congestion - Enhanced driver assistance

Commercial Applications: Title: "Advanced Stop Line Searching Device for Vehicles" This technology can be utilized in autonomous vehicles, traffic control systems, and driver assistance technologies, potentially revolutionizing the transportation industry.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the stop line searching device improve intersection safety? - The device helps vehicles identify stop lines accurately, reducing the risk of accidents at intersections.

2. What are the key benefits of integrating this technology into driver assistance systems? - By incorporating this technology, driver assistance systems can provide more precise guidance to drivers, enhancing overall safety on the roads.

Original Abstract Submitted

the stop line searching device includes: an image acquisition unit that acquires an image obtained by capturing an image of a front side of the own vehicle; a traffic light detection unit that detects a traffic light installed at an intersection in front of the own vehicle based on the image; and a setting unit that sets a stop line searching area for searching for a stop line related to the intersection, based on a detection result indicating whether or not a front side traffic light on the front side of the intersection as viewed from the own vehicle is detected by the traffic light detection unit, when the rear side traffic light on the rear side of the intersection as viewed from the own vehicle is detected by the traffic light detection unit.
