INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240233541 titled 'INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM

The abstract of this patent application describes an information processing apparatus that handles parking reservations for vehicles, specifically focusing on reservations for vehicles that require charging.

  • The apparatus includes an input interface for accepting parking reservations for vehicles.
  • The controller confirms if the vehicle is the first one needing charging and checks for availability of a parking spot with a charging station.
  • If there is an opening, the reservation for the first vehicle is completed. If not, the reservation is changed to a different parking spot for another vehicle meeting certain conditions.
  • The system ensures efficient allocation of parking spaces with charging stations based on demand and availability.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be applied in parking management systems for electric vehicles. - It can be used in smart parking solutions to optimize the allocation of charging spots.

Problems Solved: - Efficiently managing parking reservations for vehicles requiring charging. - Ensuring availability of charging stations for electric vehicles.

Benefits: - Optimizes parking space allocation for electric vehicles. - Improves the overall user experience by ensuring access to charging facilities.

Commercial Applications: Title: Smart Parking Management System for Electric Vehicles This technology can be utilized in parking facilities, airports, and commercial buildings to streamline parking reservations for electric vehicles, enhancing customer satisfaction and promoting sustainable transportation practices.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does this technology improve the efficiency of parking reservations for electric vehicles? - This technology optimizes the allocation of parking spots with charging stations based on demand, ensuring that vehicles requiring charging have access to the necessary facilities. 2. What are the potential implications of this technology for the future of electric vehicle infrastructure? - This technology can contribute to the growth of electric vehicle adoption by addressing the need for efficient charging infrastructure in parking facilities.

Original Abstract Submitted

an information processing apparatus includes an input interface that accepts a parking reservation for a vehicle for which parking is desired, and a controller that confirms, when the vehicle for which parking is desired is a first vehicle whose purpose for parking includes charging, whether there is an opening for reservation of a first parking lot having a charging station, completes acceptance of reservation of the first parking lot for the first vehicle when there is an opening, changes a reservation of the first parking lot for at least one second vehicle, selected based on a predetermined condition from among one or more reservation holding vehicles for which acceptance of reservation of the first parking lot is completed, to a reservation of a second parking lot based on the predetermined condition when there is no opening, and completes acceptance of reservation of the first parking lot for the first vehicle.
