a control system for preventing a drop in driving force in a vehicle having a momentary type shifting device. in the shifting device, the n position corresponding to the n range and the default position are located between the d position corresponding to the d range and b position corresponding to the b range. the controller is configured to establish the neutral range in a case that the shift lever which is moved to the n position is maintained thereto for the threshold, and the neutral range maintaining action is executed after the lapse of the threshold time.
