NOTIFICATION DEVICE AND NOTIFICATION METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240101133 titled 'NOTIFICATION DEVICE AND NOTIFICATION METHOD

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a system where a notification device selects messages to be notified to a driver of a vehicle based on specific conditions and notification requirements. Here are the key points of the innovation:

  • Messages are associated with specific conditions related to the surroundings of the vehicle or the state of the driver.
  • The system selects messages based on identified first and second conditions.
  • Messages with a record of last notification time and a renotification requirement are prioritized for notification.
  • The selected message is then notified to the driver through an output device.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in various industries such as automotive, transportation, and safety to enhance communication between vehicles and drivers.

Problems Solved

1. Ensures that drivers receive relevant and timely notifications based on specific conditions. 2. Helps in improving driver awareness and safety by delivering important messages effectively.

Benefits

1. Increased driver safety and awareness. 2. Customized notifications based on specific conditions. 3. Efficient communication between vehicles and drivers.

Potential Commercial Applications

Enhancing communication systems in vehicles, improving driver safety features, and integrating advanced notification systems in transportation services.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be the use of notification systems in vehicles that alert drivers based on specific conditions or events. However, the specific method of selecting and prioritizing messages based on conditions and notification requirements as described in this patent application may be a novel approach.

Unanswered Questions

How does the system ensure the accuracy and relevance of the selected messages for the driver?

The system may use advanced algorithms and data analysis to determine the most relevant messages based on the identified conditions and notification requirements.

What measures are in place to prevent message overload for the driver?

The system may have built-in mechanisms to limit the number of notifications and prioritize critical messages to avoid overwhelming the driver with information.

Original Abstract Submitted

with reference to a message table associating a plurality of messages to be notified to a driver of a vehicle with a first condition, a second condition, last notification time of the message, and renotification requirement, a notification device selects messages associated with an identified first condition corresponding to a situation of surroundings of a vehicle or a state of a driver, selects, from among the messages associated with the identified first condition, messages associated with an identified second condition corresponding to a state of the driver, specifies, from among the messages associated with the identified second condition, a message without a record of last notification time or a message with a record of last notification time and with a renotification requirement requiring a renotification, and notifies the specified message to the driver through an output device.
