Uplink Transmission Timing Control - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240188055 titled 'Uplink Transmission Timing Control

Simplified Explanation

The abstract of the patent application describes a wireless device that determines whether to apply a timing advance adjustment for a set of uplink transmissions on a carrier or bandwidth part. The adjustment involves changing the transmission timing of the uplink transmission based on received commands or detected errors in downlink timing.

  • Wireless device determines window of time for bundling uplink transmissions
  • Decision to apply timing advance adjustment within the window of time
  • Adjustment changes transmission timing of uplink transmission
  • Transmission is sent during window of time based on determination
  • Determination based on received timing advance command or detected error in downlink timing

Original Abstract Submitted

a wireless device () obtains a window of time for bundling of a set of uplink transmissions () on a carrier or bandwidth part. the wireless device determines whether or not to apply a timing advance adjustment () within the window of time. the timing advance adjustment comprises an adjustment to a transmission timing of an uplink transmission on the carrier or bandwidth part. the wireless device transmits the uplink transmission on the carrier or bandwidth part during the window of time using a transmission timing which is in accordance with the determining. the determining is based on whether the timing advance adjustment is indicated by a received timing advance command () or whether the timing advance adjustment is due to a detected error in downlink timing.
