CORRECTING DISRUPTION OF A NETWORK DURING A VIRTUAL MEETING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240275838 titled 'CORRECTING DISRUPTION OF A NETWORK DURING A VIRTUAL MEETING

Simplified Explanation

This patent application describes a method for correcting network disruptions during virtual meetings by recording and storing audio and/or video data on a device, then transmitting it to another device at an accelerated rate after a disruption.

  • When audio and/or video input is detected on a device, the data is recorded and stored in a temporary buffer.
  • In the event of a network disruption, a server can request the stored data from the device and transmit it to another device quickly using time stamps.

Key Features and Innovation

  • Recording and storing audio and/or video data on a device during a virtual meeting.
  • Transmitting the stored data to another device at an accelerated rate after a network disruption.
  • Using time stamps to ensure seamless playback of the recorded data on the second device.

Potential Applications

This technology could be used in various virtual meeting platforms, online conferences, and remote collaboration tools to ensure uninterrupted communication in case of network disruptions.

Problems Solved

  • Addressing network disruptions that can interrupt virtual meetings and communication.
  • Providing a solution to seamlessly continue virtual meetings without losing important audio and video data.

Benefits

  • Improved reliability and continuity of virtual meetings.
  • Enhanced user experience by minimizing disruptions and data loss during online communication.

Commercial Applications

  • Title: "Enhancing Virtual Meeting Reliability with Network Disruption Correction Technology"
  • This technology could be valuable for companies offering virtual meeting platforms, online conferencing services, and remote collaboration tools.
  • It could attract customers looking for reliable communication solutions for their virtual meetings and conferences.

Questions about the Technology

What are the potential drawbacks of using this technology in virtual meetings?

While this technology can help mitigate network disruptions, there may be concerns about data privacy and security when recording and transmitting audio and video data.

How does this technology compare to existing solutions for network disruptions in virtual meetings?

This technology offers a proactive approach by recording and storing data before a disruption occurs, ensuring minimal impact on the meeting flow.

Original Abstract Submitted

some implementations described herein provide apparatuses and techniques for correcting a network disruption during a virtual meeting. in response to detecting audio and/or video input to a first device, audio and/or video data is recorded and stored in a temporary buffer of the first device. after the network disruption, and using time stamps, a network disruption server may request the audio and/or video data from the first device and transmit the audio and/or video data to a second device at an accelerated rate.
