Abstract: there is disclosed a waveguide for use in an augmented reality or virtual reality display. the waveguide comprises a plurality of optical structures in a photonic crystal. the plurality of optical structures are arranged in an array to provide at least two diffractive optical elements. each of the two diffractive optical elements is configured to receive light from an input direction and couple it towards the other diffractive optical element which can then act as an output diffractive optical element, providing outcoupled orders towards a viewer. the plurality of optical structures respectively have a shape, when viewed in the plane of the waveguide, comprising twelve substantially straight sides, six of the sides having respective normal vectors at a first angle, and the other six of the sides having respective normal vectors at a second angle which is different to the first angle.

Abstract: method of generating selectable items providing post-viewing context actions starts with a processor receiving a media content item with first media overlay from first client device. processor causes an active notification associated with the media content item to be displayed on a notification user interface by a second client device. processor receives a selection of the active notification from the second client device and in response to receiving the selection of the active notification, causes the media content item to be displayed by the second client device. the processor, in response to the media content item being displayed by the second client device, causes the second client device to display the notification user interface comprising an inactive notification and a first selectable item that is associated with the first media overlay. other embodiments are described herein.

Abstract: an ergonomics evaluation system for ar applications of an ar device is described. in one aspect, a method includes accessing user interface elements of an augmented reality application, accessing a plurality of user models and corresponding simulated augmented reality device sensor data for the plurality of user models, identifying simulated user interactions, from the plurality of user models, with a simulated augmented reality device operating the augmented reality application, based on the plurality of user models and corresponding simulated augmented reality device sensor data for the plurality of user models, applying a computer vision algorithm to the simulated user interactions, identifying user postures and user motions based on the simulated user interactions, and generating a first ergonomic feedback based on the user postures and the user motions.
