Molding Management System - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240319720 titled 'Molding Management System

The abstract describes a molding management system that includes a device storage unit, defect classification storage unit, receiving units, and a device defect storage unit. This system is designed to store information related to devices used in production and defects in molded articles or materials.

  • Device storage unit stores device identification information, including molding machines.
  • Defect classification storage unit stores defect classification information related to defects in molded articles or materials.
  • First receiving unit receives selection of device identification information.
  • Second receiving unit receives selection of defect classification information.
  • Device defect storage unit stores device identification and defect classification information in association with each other.
  • Third receiving unit receives defect classification information in case of defects in molded articles or materials.

Potential Applications: - Quality control in manufacturing processes - Streamlining defect classification and resolution - Enhancing traceability of defects back to specific devices

Problems Solved: - Efficiently managing device identification and defect classification information - Improving response time to defects in molded articles - Enhancing overall quality control processes

Benefits: - Increased efficiency in defect resolution - Enhanced traceability of defects to specific devices - Improved overall quality control in molding processes

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhancing Quality Control in Molding Processes with a Molding Management System" This technology can be applied in industries such as automotive, electronics, and consumer goods manufacturing to improve quality control processes and reduce defects in molded articles.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the system improve traceability of defects in molded articles? 2. What are the key benefits of using this molding management system in manufacturing processes?

Original Abstract Submitted

a molding management system includes: a device storage unit configured to store a plurality of pieces of device identification information that are identification information of a device used in production of a molded article and including at least a molding machine; a defect classification storage unit configured to store master data including a plurality pieces of defect classification information that are information related to classification of a defect of the molded article or a material used for molding the molded article; a first receiving unit configured to receive selection of the device identification information stored in the device storage unit; a second receiving unit configured to receive selection of the defect classification information provided in the master data; a device defect storage unit configured to store the device identification information received by the first receiving unit and the defect classification information received by the second receiving unit in association with each other; and a third receiving unit configured to receive, in a case where the defect occurs in the molded article or the material, selection of the defect classification information stored in the device defect storage unit in association with the device identification information of the device used in production of the molded article when the defect occurs.
